Overview
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This role requires hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) and a strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a professional business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and manage financial records using QuickBooks
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger
Prepare monthly financial reports and support month-end close
Track expenses, income, and cash flow
Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reporting as needed
Support audits, tax preparation, and accountant requests
Maintain organized financial documentation and files
Qualifications
2–5+ years of bookkeeping experience
Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop required)
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
Proficiency in Excel and basic financial spreadsheets
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses
Exposure to industries such as construction, professional services, or manufacturing
Payroll experience
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Work Environment
Office-based, hybrid, or remote depending on business needs
Standard business hours, with flexibility based on role scope
