We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist for a contract/temporary opportunity in Land O' Lakes, FL. This role is ideal for a billing, accounting, or administrative professional with prior homebuilder industry experience who enjoys accurate data entry, invoice preparation, customer account support, and organized recordkeeping.
The Billing Specialist will work in a structured office environment with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule and weekly pay. This is a great opportunity to join a professional, team-oriented workplace where accuracy, communication, and dependable follow-through are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather billing data, calculate charges, and prepare accurate itemized invoices.
- Verify billing information for accuracy and correct discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain billing records, invoices, account documentation, and supporting files.
- Perform general bookkeeping support, including data entry and record maintenance.
- Contact customers to obtain, verify, and update account information as needed.
- Support the team with additional billing, administrative, and accounting-related tasks as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $22.00 per hour.
- Pay frequency: Weekly.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Location: Land O' Lakes, FL 34638.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Prepare itemized invoices and billing documents for services rendered.
- Verify billing data, correct errors, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Communicate with customers to confirm and update account information.
- Support bookkeeping, data entry, and administrative billing processes.
- Prior experience working with a homebuilder is required, such as a residential builder or similar construction-related organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 3+ years of billing or administrative experience is required.
- 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook is required.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and multitasking ability.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve billing issues efficiently.
- Professional communication skills, including active listening and customer service awareness.
- Ability to stay focused, work under pressure, and adapt to established service standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous office experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, construction billing, or homebuilding administrative support is a plus.
- Familiarity with customer account updates, invoice documentation, and billing record maintenance is preferred.
