Billing Specialist

Compensation: $48,000–$50,000 annually

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing accurate customer invoices while maintaining detailed billing records.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in billing operations, excellent organizational skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. This is a fully on-site position and requires the ability to obtain a security badge with clearance comparable to airport-level access due to the office’s location at the Port of Tampa.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices accurately and on schedule
Process credits and debits and ensure proper documentation is maintained
Verify billing data, rates, and charges for accuracy and contract compliance
Maintain and update billing records, customer accounts, and supporting documentation
Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve invoice issues with internal teams and customers
Use Microsoft Excel extensively to track billing activity, analyze data, reconcile accounts, and generate reports
Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets utilizing formulas, pivot tables, filters, and data validation
Assist with month-end close activities related to billing and accounts receivable
Provide billing documentation and reporting support for audits as requested
Respond professionally to customer billing inquiries
Ensure billing processes comply with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in billing or invoicing, including invoice processing, credits, and debits
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
Experience with accounting, billing, or ERP systems (ERP experience a plus)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
