Job Summary
The Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing accurate customer invoices while maintaining detailed billing records. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and support reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, review, and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner
• Verify billing data, rates, and charges to ensure accuracy and compliance with contracts or agreements
• Maintain and update billing records, customer accounts, and supporting documentation
• Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve invoice issues with internal departments and customers
• Utilize Microsoft Excel extensively to track billing activity, analyze data, create reports, and reconcile accounts
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets using formulas, pivot tables, filters, and data validation
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to billing and accounts receivable
• Support audits by providing billing documentation and reports as requested
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing inquiries
• Ensure billing procedures comply with company policies and accounting standards
