Position: Billing Clerk
Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico, Fully on-site
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch).
Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage various billing processes for services (electronic, regular, or manual).
• Execute special billing instructions for clients as required.
• Review final invoices to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with client requirements.
• Process electronic billing, submit invoices to clients, and follow up until payments are received.
• Monitor and track validations, approvals, and rejections of electronic billing.
• Analyze rejections of electronic invoices and make corrections as appropriate.
• Maintain the electronic billing system database updated with special billing agreements.
• Update client records and monitor compliance with billing requirements, including rate updates and special rates.
• Process “Write Downs” in accordance with firm policies.
• Process “Write Ups” based on specifications approved by attorneys.
• Review final invoices, including client addresses and other contact information, prior to submission.
• Participate in special projects related to the billing unit.

Essential Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; ideally with experience in electronic billing systems.
• Previous exposure or experience in service billing.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Experience preparing reports in Excel.
• Proficiency in operating computer systems and software such as Passport, among others.
• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
• Ability to process tasks quickly and accurately.
• Strong arithmetic computation skills with precision and accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Strong analytical skills to review accounts and detect discrepancies.
• Sense of urgency in task execution.
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, employees, and clients.
• Availability during critical periods such as month-end, calendar year-end (December), and fiscal year-end (May).
• Ability to prepare and draft monthly reports.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Management.
