AppleOne has an exciting Temp to Hire opportunity with a respected law firm seeking a detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Administrative Assistant to support their busy WC department. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their legal administrative skills. This is a remote position, must live in CA.
About the Role
You will provide essential administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and the Workers’ Compensation Manager. This role focuses on preparing and organizing case documents, completing service requests, updating case service lists, and ensuring timely communication between internal teams and external parties.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and send authorization packets to new clients and follow up as needed
• File Applications with the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board
• Compile medical records and document productions for experts and defendants
• Prepare deposition packets and other hearing-related documents
• Update and maintain official attorney service lists for each case
• Process copy fee checks and provide requested documents
• File medical-legal reports via EAMS and serve documents to all parties
• Support scheduling and calendaring needs from managing attorneys
• Prepare denial letters, Minutes of Hearing, appearance sheets, and conference materials
• Draft and serve informal conference notices
• Complete scanning requests and maintain digital files in GW/SIS systems
• Assist with subpoena responses, fee calculations, and correspondence drafting
• Provide general administrative support to the WC Manager, attorneys, and paralegals
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or one to two years of office experience
• Law firm or workers’ compensation experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in WordPerfect, MS Word, Excel, and database applications
• Strong multitasking skills, accuracy, and ability to work under deadlines
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
• A dependable team player with excellent communication skills
