Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate federal and state individual and small business tax returns, including 1040, 1120, and 1065 filings.
- Review tax returns prepared by other team members to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
- Identify deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities for clients.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax documents, filing requirements, and tax situations.
- E-file returns, manage follow-ups, and ensure client documentation is complete and accurate.
- Train, teach, and support junior staff or interns while helping improve internal tax preparation processes.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $52,000 to $66,560 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare individual and small business federal and state tax returns.
- Review and verify tax returns prepared by other team members.
- Communicate with clients and manage tax filing follow-up.
- Support junior staff through training, coaching, and tax preparation guidance.

- Minimum 3 years of tax preparation experience.
- Experience preparing individual 1040 returns and business returns, including 1120 and 1065.
- Active CTEC certification is required.
- Active PTIN required.
- Strong understanding of U.S. tax law, filing procedures, deductions, credits, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Drake Tax Software or similar tax preparation software.
- Proven ability to review tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
- Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, and client service skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative tax and accounting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
- Experience with tax resolution and back tax filings.
- Interest in growing into a leadership or supervisory role.
