Immediate need for a bilingual Japanese purchasing specialist. Will be responsible for managing purchasing operations and Facilitating communication between US Based teams and parent company in Japan. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Japanese and English, possess strong analytical and organizations skills, and have a working understanding o automotive quality systems and purchasing processes. This position is based at the manufacturing plan in White, Georgia.
Responsibilities:
Independently manage purchasing for the Technical and auto parts QA departments
Negotiate contracts with third party labor suppliers and oversee invoice processing
Lead the competitor tire purchasing process, including international coordination and logistics.
Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and the parent company in Japan.
Translate and interpret technical documents and communications between Japanese and English
Provide support during international audits and meetings, including occasional travel to Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia
Manage customer facing technical document approvals and sensitive project communications.
Host and coordinate visits from international vendors and expatriates.
Support quality engineering efforts, including documentation and audit assistance.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
Strong technical communication skills (oral & written) in English and Japanese
Familiarity with purchasing processes and automotive quality standards
Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and time management
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business management, Business administration, or Finance with a minimum of 5 years’ experience translating/interpreting tire or automotive industry technical content, and 5-10 years of professional experience in purchasing.
