We are hiring a Benefits Eligibility Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity onsite in Spartanburg, SC. Key Responsibilities
- Review applications and supporting documentation to assist with eligibility determinations for public assistance programs.
- Validate applicant information across multiple systems and ensure records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Communicate with applicants as needed to request missing information, clarify documentation, or provide process updates.
- Follow established procedures, compliance standards, and confidentiality requirements when handling sensitive information.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation in accordance with program guidelines.
- Participate in paid classroom-style training and apply learned processes in a structured office setting.
Compensation
- Pay: $15 per hour.
- Salary range provided: $33,000 per year.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
- Assignment type: Long-term contract with potential for permanent placement.
- Work arrangement: Onsite in Spartanburg, SC.
- Training: Paid classroom-style training for 4 to 6 weeks.
- Time off: No approved time off during the training period.
- Start date: 6/24.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Review and validate applications and eligibility documentation.
- Maintain accurate information across multiple systems and case records.
- Communicate professionally with applicants regarding required information and process steps.
- Follow program procedures, confidentiality standards, and compliance guidelines.
- 3 to 5 years of administrative, eligibility, customer service, case processing, or related office experience preferred based on role level.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review information for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to follow structured procedures, meet deadlines, and work in a process-driven environment.
- Comfortable using computer systems, databases, and standard office technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
- Reliable attendance and availability for the full paid training period with no approved time off during training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting public assistance, benefits administration, eligibility review, case management, or government program operations.
- Experience working in a high-volume administrative or document review environment.
- Familiarity with compliance-driven processes and confidential records handling.
