We are seeking an experienced Benefits Coordinator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Pasadena, CA within a healthcare services environment. This onsite role is ideal for a benefits professional who enjoys supporting employees, managing benefits administration, and ensuring accurate compliance with benefit plan requirements.
The Benefits Coordinator will work closely with employees and HR team members to administer health, insurance, retirement, and related benefit programs. This is a strong opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven healthcare workplace with a collaborative HR team, supportive leadership, and meaningful employee service responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefits and retirement programs, including eligibility, enrollment, coverage updates, and related documentation.
- Consult with employees regarding insurance, hospitalization, benefits coverage, claims procedures, and general benefits questions.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and prepare documents needed to implement or update benefits coverage.
- Assist with benefit plan audits, policy review, and ongoing compliance with current benefit trends and legislated requirements.
- Support HR and benefits administration processes while providing responsive, professional employee service.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Assignment length: 4+ months.
- Start date: ASAP.
- Location: 100% onsite in Pasadena, CA, located in the Wingate Building.
- Schedule may require flexibility of hours.
- Administer employee benefits and retirement programs.
- Maintain benefits records and prepare coverage documentation.
- Advise employees on eligibility, coverage, claims procedures, and benefit plan questions.
- Assist with benefits audits, policy support, and compliance-related benefit administration.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of benefits-related experience preferred.
- Must have benefits administration experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent tools required.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy in maintaining employee benefits records.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to explain benefits information clearly to employees.
- General Human Resources experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework preferred.
- Kronos HRIS knowledge or experience preferred.
- Current Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, CEBS, designation preferred.
- Healthcare services industry experience is a plus.
