We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bankruptcy Paralegal to support our attorneys and clients through all phases of the bankruptcy process. This role requires strong legal knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment. You will play a critical role in case preparation, client communication, document management, and courtroom support.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Assist in managing bankruptcy cases from start to finish
Organize and maintain case files, client documents, and legal paperwork
Draft bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related filings
Client Communication:
Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys
Provide updates, gather financial information, and address client concerns
Legal Research:
Research bankruptcy laws, court rules, and procedures
Support attorneys in developing case strategies and ensuring compliance
Document Preparation and Filing:
Draft motions, pleadings, and correspondence
File documents with bankruptcy courts and track deadlines
Financial Analysis:
Review and assess client financials (income statements, tax returns, etc.)
Assist attorneys in evaluating debt relief options and bankruptcy strategies
Court Proceedings Support:
Prepare case materials and exhibits for hearings and trials
Coordinate with court staff and assist with scheduling
Administrative Support:
Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and maintain filing systems
Handle general administrative duties as needed
Continuing Education:
Stay current with changes in bankruptcy law and best practices
Attend relevant seminars, workshops, and training sessions
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with attorneys, other paralegals, and staff to ensure cohesive service delivery
Contribute to a positive and productive team environment
