Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Bank Manager for a direct hire opportunity in La Mesa, CA. This management-level role is ideal for a banking professional with a strong background in branch leadership, deposit growth, operational compliance, customer relationship management, and team development.
The Bank Manager will oversee the daily administration and performance of a full-service branch, including operations, client service, sales leadership, compliance, staffing, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily branch operations, including customer service, sales activities, staffing, compliance, security, safety, and overall branch performance.
- Hire, train, coach, and develop branch employees while conducting regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing performance management.
- Drive deposit growth, customer retention, and new account development through sales strategies, outbound calling, business networking, and community engagement.
- Monitor branch performance, audit readiness, operational controls, expenses, reports, overdrafts, exceptions, and compliance with bank policies and banking regulations.
- Resolve complex customer service issues, support business and consumer account needs, and model a customer-first service culture.
- Represent the branch in local business and community organizations while supporting CRA-related initiatives and volunteer participation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $74,000 to $107,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage daily operations of a full-service bank branch, including sales, service, compliance, staffing, and operational performance.
- Develop and execute branch sales strategies focused on deposit growth, customer acquisition, relationship expansion, and community outreach.
- Lead, coach, train, and performance-manage branch employees to achieve service, operational, and sales goals.
- Oversee complex business and consumer account servicing, issue resolution, approvals, audits, reports, and regulatory compliance.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a branch banking environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of branch management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing complex business and consumer accounts.
- Proven sales ability with documented branch growth.
- Strong knowledge of branch operations, banking procedures, customer service standards, and state and federal banking regulations.
- Experience hiring, training, coaching, developing, and managing employee performance.
- Ability to lead teams, build a positive branch culture, and communicate effectively with staff, customers, and senior management.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Active involvement in business-related local community organizations, such as a Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, or similar groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking software programs.
- Ability to work in office and manage 2 or more branch employees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Notary Public preferred.
- Experience supporting CRA activities, community volunteer programs, or local business development initiatives.
- Strong local market knowledge in the La Mesa or greater San Diego banking community.
- Experience partnering with lending teams to identify and refer small business credit opportunities.
