Job Summary
A relationship-driven community bank in Portland, OR is seeking an experienced Bank Branch Manager for a direct hire opportunity. This is an excellent role for a hands-on retail banking leader who enjoys developing teams, growing deposits and loans, building customer relationships, and representing the branch within the local community.
The Branch Manager will lead daily branch operations while supporting a deposit-centric, service-focused culture. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop branch employees to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve individual and branch performance goals.
- Drive consumer deposit and loan growth while identifying opportunities in small business and non-profit banking.
- Oversee daily branch operations, including account opening, complex transactions, customer escalations, and problem resolution.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations, including BSA/AML, Fair Lending, Privacy, and Anti-Discrimination requirements.
- Monitor branch profitability through expense control, income generation, customer retention, and local marketing activities.
- Maintain a safe, secure, professional branch environment and ensure staff are trained on safety, security, and fraud procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $68,000 to $95,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead daily retail branch operations, team performance, customer service, and sales-through-service activities.
- Manage consumer deposit growth, consumer lending support, account opening, and customer relationship development.
- Ensure branch compliance, operational accuracy, safety standards, and regulatory adherence.
- Partner with regional leadership and internal business lines to support branch goals, retention, and customer experience.
- 3 to 5 years of retail banking experience, including branch management or assistant branch management responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of consumer banking products, deposit operations, retail branch procedures, and branch profitability drivers.
- Understanding of applicable banking regulations, including BSA/AML, Fair Lending, Privacy, and Anti-Discrimination requirements.
- Experience coaching, training, developing, and managing branch employees in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to support consumer lending conversations, explain products, guide applications, and ensure accurate documentation and disclosures.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, organization, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership for resolving customer, operational, and team-related issues.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, respectful communication, and maintaining a harassment-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting small business, non-profit, or community banking relationships.
- Proven success growing deposits, consumer loans, customer retention, and local market visibility.
- Experience representing a financial institution at community events or local business activities.
- Familiarity with branch security procedures, fraud prevention practices, and safety training.
