AutoCAD Drafter – Renewable Energy (Solar Plant Design)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Drafter with experience in solar plant design for both commercial and residential projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can create precise technical drawings, collaborate with engineers, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate and detailed CAD drawings for solar energy projects, including site layouts, electrical schematics, and structural designs.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements.
- Modify and update drawings based on client specifications, field data, and engineering feedback.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, NEC regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in project documentation, including permit applications, material lists, and technical reports.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain organized CAD files and project records for efficient workflow.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience in solar energy, electrical, or structural design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, with knowledge of solar PV system layouts, electrical schematics, and site planning.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with renewable energy systems, NEC codes, and permitting processes.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to produce precise and compliant technical drawings.
- Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting design challenges and optimizing layouts for efficiency.

Preferred Experience:
- Experience with commercial and residential solar projects.
- Knowledge of PV system modeling software (e.g., Helioscope, Aurora Solar).
- Understanding of structural and electrical engineering principles related to solar installations.
