The Audit Manager is responsible for overseeing audit engagements from planning through completion while serving as the primary client relationship manager. This role requires strong technical expertise, independent judgment, and the ability to lead, mentor, and develop audit staff. The Audit Manager will work closely with leadership to ensure high-quality service delivery, particularly for non-profit audit engagements.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will manage and oversee multiple audit engagements simultaneously, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to professional standards.
The Audit Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients; build and maintain strong client relationships, lead engagement planning, risk assessment, and execution, and review audit workpapers, financial statements, and reports for accuracy and compliance. The Audit Manager will research and resolve complex technical accounting and auditing issues independently and provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to senior and staff auditors.
This role will manage engagement budgets, timelines, and staff assignments, identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies, and collaborate with partners and leadership on engagement strategy and client needs.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of audit experience within a CPA firm
Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles
Experience managing audit engagements and client relationships
Ability to independently research and resolve technical issues
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
CPA preferred but not required (certain responsibilities and advancement opportunities may be limited without CPA licensure)
Work Environment & Schedule
No travel required
Onsite work required initially
Transition to a hybrid schedule after onboarding, with 3 days per week in the office
