Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Audio Annotation Clerk for a temporary, 100% on-site opportunity in Lake Mary, FL. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys podcasts, audiobooks, music, transcription, or audio production and has a strong ear for subtle changes in speech, tone, and sound quality.

As an Audio Annotation Clerk, you will support an AI-focused project by listening to audio recordings, evaluating content, and labeling data that helps improve speech recognition and artificial intelligence technology. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in AI data annotation while working in a structured, team-focused environment with clear project guidelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Listen to audio recordings and evaluate speech quality, clarity, and consistency.
- Identify speaker changes, tone shifts, voice characteristics, background sounds, and audio events.
- Label, categorize, and annotate audio content according to detailed project guidelines.
- Review audio data for accuracy and consistency to support quality standards.
- Maintain focus while working through long-form audio recordings and repetitive annotation tasks.
- Contribute to the improvement of AI, speech recognition, and audio data technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $18.00 per hour.
- Location: 100% on-site in Lake Mary, FL 32746.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Assignment length: Temporary through the end of July, with the possibility of extension.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Listen to and evaluate audio recordings for speech quality, clarity, tone, and speaker characteristics.
- Annotate, label, and categorize audio content based on project-specific guidelines.
- Detect background sounds, speech patterns, and other audio events with a high level of accuracy.
- Verify audio data for consistency and support AI speech recognition improvement efforts.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience preferred based on the role level.
- Exceptional listening skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stay focused while reviewing long audio recordings.
- Patience and accuracy when performing repetitive, detail-oriented tasks.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software tools quickly.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, quality standards, and project guidelines.
- Interest in podcasts, audiobooks, music production, transcription, or other audio-based content.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with audio annotation, AI data labeling, or data review.
- Experience using audio editing or analysis software such as Audacity, ELAN, or Praat.
- Transcription experience.
- Podcast, music, or audio production experience.
- Quality assurance or detail-oriented data review experience.
- Experience with freelance AI training or data annotation platforms.
