Job Summary

A respected legal services firm in Tampa, FL is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its litigation practice on a direct hire basis. This opportunity is well suited for a litigation attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience who wants meaningful case responsibility, direct client interaction, and exposure to a wide range of commercial, business, civil, insurance, property, and contract dispute matters.

The Associate Attorney will work closely with experienced attorneys and legal support staff in a collaborative environment that values strong legal analysis, professional growth, teamwork, and practical litigation experience. This role offers supportive leadership, substantive case involvement, and the opportunity to continue building litigation skills through writing, research, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage commercial, business, and civil litigation matters from case intake through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and assist in developing effective litigation strategies.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare clients and witnesses, and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, attorneys, and internal staff.
- Maintain litigation calendars, case deadlines, case files, and overall matter organization.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
- Pay is expected to be around $120,000, with flexibility to pay more for the right candidate.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, memoranda, and related litigation documents.
- Conduct legal research and contribute to litigation strategy.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.

- 3 to 5 years of litigation experience.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Florida.
- Strong legal research, writing, analysis, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience handling commercial, business, civil, insurance, property, or contract dispute matters.
- Ability to manage deadlines, organize case files, and maintain accurate litigation calendars.
- Professional communication skills with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, attorneys, and staff.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience taking or defending depositions.
- Experience participating in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, or trials.
- Background in commercial litigation, business litigation, insurance disputes, property disputes, or contract disputes.
- Strong client service skills and comfort managing direct client communication.
- Interest in long-term litigation practice growth within a supportive legal team.
