Assistant Controller
Location: Onsite – Fort Lauderdale, FL
Salary: $150,000–$170,000 base + 20% annual bonus

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help lead and scale the accounting function for a high-growth construction and solar energy company. This role blends hands-on technical accounting expertise with strong people leadership and will regularly partner with C-suite leadership and company owners.
The ideal candidate comes from a large-scale construction environment ($350M+ annual revenue required; $500M+ preferred) and has deep experience in project accounting, WIP reporting, and ASC 606.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead and manage the accounting team (GL, AP/AR, Payroll), driving performance and accountability
-Own month-end and year-end close and review financial statements
-Oversee construction/project accounting, including WIP, job costing, backlog, margins, and AIA billing
-Ensure accurate percentage-of-completion revenue recognition (ASC 606)
-Partner with leadership on cash flow forecasting and financial planning
-Strengthen internal controls and support audits, tax, and lender relationships
-Drive process improvements and support ERP optimization (Sage, Procore, NetSuite, or similar)
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
-7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
-5+ years leading accounting teams
-Extensive experience in construction or project-based accounting
-Proven background with companies generating $350M+ annual revenue (required)
-Strong systems, Excel, and analytical skills
-Polished, professional presence with experience working directly with executives
