Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Las Vegas, NV within the financial services industry. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to help ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and strong accounting processes. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, review, and support accurate financial reports, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning processes.
- Support internal control procedures and help ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the Controller to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Supervise or support accounting staff, providing guidance on daily accounting activities and deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal departments to research discrepancies, resolve issues, and provide financial insight.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $80,000 to $99,000 per year.
- Employment type: Temp-to-Hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support financial reporting, month-end close, and account reconciliation processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Help maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Partner with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to improve financial accuracy and processes.

- 3-5 years of accounting, financial control, or related finance experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
- Experience supporting month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control processes.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and handle confidential financial information.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with accounting staff, leadership, and other departments.
- Financial services industry experience or ability to work effectively in a regulated financial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification.
- Experience supervising accounting staff or serving as a lead resource within an accounting team.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems.
- Prior experience in financial services, banking, lending, investment, or related regulated environments.
