Hiring: Assistant Controller (Financial Operations)
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join our finance leadership team during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Reporting directly to the Controller and working closely with the CFO, you will be a key architect in strengthening our accounting infrastructure, enhancing internal controls, and supporting our NetSuite ERP implementation.
This is a pivotal role for a process-oriented professional who excels at moving the needle—transitioning from manual workflows to scalable, automated, and GAAP-compliant financial operations.
The Impact You Will Make
Close Optimization: Assist in driving a transition toward a structured, 10-day month-end close timeline.
Process Engineering: Design and implement standardized balance sheet reconciliation procedures and internal controls to ensure total financial integrity.
ERP Migration: Act as a key stakeholder in our NetSuite implementation, validating workflows and ensuring best practices within the new environment.
Future Leadership: While initially focused on technical improvements, this role is designed to expand into operational oversight of AP, AR, and Billing as the organization matures.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations: Manage month-end/year-end close processes, prepare journal entries, and ensure all reporting complies with U.S. GAAP.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly reporting packages for internal management, lenders, and investors.
Internal Controls & Audit: Strengthen segregation of duties, document accounting policies, and serve as a primary point of contact for external audits.
Workflow Inefficiencies: Identify bottlenecks in current accounting workflows and develop standardized schedules for fixed assets, accruals, and amortizations.
Qualifications & Keys to Hire
Experience: Proven accounting leadership within a mid-sized company environment ($40M–$100M annual revenue range).
Technical Excellence: Expert-level Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex data modeling) are a must.
The "Clean-Up" Mindset: A track record of improving month-end procedures and strengthening balance sheet integrity.
System Savvy: Experience with ERP implementations (specifically NetSuite) is highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA is a plus.
Why Join Us?
This is not a "maintenance" role. You will have a seat at the table to build and refine the financial engine of a growing company. If you are a technical accountant who loves to build scalable procedures and sees the story behind the balance sheet, we want to hear from you.
Apply today to partner with our leadership team in defining the future of our financial operations!
