Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Bank Manager for a direct hire opportunity in San Diego, CA. The Assistant Bank Manager will support daily branch operations, help guide frontline staff, ensure compliance with banking policies and regulations, and partner with branch leadership on customer retention and business growth. Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily branch operations, including staff scheduling, transaction approvals, operational workflows, and compliance oversight.
- Coach, train, and support branch team members to deliver consistent, high-quality customer service.
- Oversee account services, including new account openings, teller functions, callbacks, dispute resolution, and customer inquiries.
- Maintain accurate branch security procedures, operational reporting, certifications, and audit readiness.
- Partner with the Branch Manager on business development, customer retention, promotional activities, and branch growth initiatives.
- Motivate staff, set team goals, recognize strong performance, and help create a positive and accountable branch environment.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead branch operations, including transaction approvals, service workflows, compliance procedures, and staff coordination.
- Mentor and supervise banking team members to improve customer experience, productivity, and operational accuracy.
- Support account services, teller operations, dispute resolution, reporting, and branch security requirements.
- Partner with branch leadership on customer retention, business development, and team performance goals.

- Specialist Level: 5+ years of banking experience, including 2+ years in operations and supervision.
- Officer Level: 8+ years of banking experience, including 4+ years in operations and supervision.
- Experience in branch banking, retail banking, consumer banking, or financial services operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking software systems.
- Strong knowledge of branch procedures, account services, teller operations, and regulatory compliance expectations.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and excellent client service.

Preferred Qualifications
- Notary Public preferred.
- Prior experience supporting branch growth, customer retention, or promotional banking activities.
- Experience developing team goals, recognizing performance, and supporting employee training initiatives.


- Compensation: $24 to $38 per hour.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.
- Location: San Diego, CA.
