Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician for a contract opportunity in Fremont, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional who enjoys building high-quality assemblies, following detailed work instructions, and contributing to daily production goals in a fast-paced operations environment.

The Assembly Technician will support custom assembly services by working closely with production planning, purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to build, package, and prepare assemblies that meet customer specifications. Key Responsibilities

- Build custom assemblies according to approved work instructions, certification guidelines, and customer specifications.
- Support daily production goals by completing assigned assemblies accurately and on schedule.
- Work with production planners, buyers, estimators, and warehouse associates to support packing, shipping, and order fulfillment.
- Follow standard work procedures, quality requirements, and lean manufacturing practices to improve safety, accuracy, and productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production area through assigned housekeeping duties.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with production scheduling or job instruction packets as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours to be determined by supervisor. / Overtime available 
- Classification: Hourly, non-exempt.
- Location: Fremont, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Build and complete daily custom assemblies according to production requirements.
- Follow job instructions, standard work procedures, and quality objectives.
- Support packing, shipping, inventory accuracy, and order accuracy goals.
- Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant assembly, manufacturing, production, warehouse, or related experience.
- High school diploma required.
- Some experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Basic math and English skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand product features, assembly requirements, and customer specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a production environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stretching, stooping, standing, and being on your feet for most of the day.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production, warehouse, and operations stakeholders.
- Commitment to quality, customer focus, integrity, respect, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

- Assembly certifications preferred.
- Warehouse distribution or related experience preferred.
- Experience with lean manufacturing concepts preferred.
- Experience creating or following detailed job instruction packets preferred.
