We are seeking a skilled Medical Device Assembler II to join our production team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced in assembling small components in a regulated, clean-room environment. Candidates must bring hands-on assembly experience and the ability to follow precise documentation and production standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 1–2 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO-certified assembly experience required.
In lieu of a diploma: 2–3 years of previous medical device or ISO-certified assembly experience.
Ability to communicate clearly via phone, email, and in person with supervisors, leads, and team members.
Must understand verbal and written work instructions.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Ability to work in a clean-room environment and follow clean-room procedures.
Capable of performing repetitive tasks according to set sequences and production pace.
Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Lean Manufacturing preferred.
Must maintain confidentiality of documents, processes, and product information.
Fine motor skills, strong dexterity, and excellent hand–eye coordination required for assembling small parts and subassemblies.
Ability to operate manufacturing and inspection equipment (after training), including but not limited to microscopes, test equipment, EFDs, ultrasonic welders, soldering irons, dial calipers, pressure gauges, and rulers.
Basic MS Windows skills and ability to learn site-specific software programs.
Responsibilities:
Perform all tasks associated with Assembler I, demonstrating mastery of basic assembly skills.
Assemble medical devices on two or more product lines at or above the standard production rate.
Reference and follow Quality System Policies and written procedures accurately.
Complete and maintain precise production documentation, including Device History Records, Data Sheets, and Lot Control forms.
Follow instructions from supervisors or leads regarding priorities, schedules, assignments, and standards.
Adapt to changes in procedures and effectively learn new processes as product lines evolve.
Cross-train on various product lines as requested.
Assist Assembler III or Leads with training tasks when needed.
Apply a general understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles to support continuous improvement efforts.
Proactively notify leads or supervisors of material shortages or production issues.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by following housekeeping and safety guidelines (ergonomics, tool handling, job rotation, stretching, preventive maintenance).
Meet attendance requirements and be willing to work overtime or varying shifts when needed.
Use time effectively and avoid disruptions, excessive idle time, or improper break usage.
Participate in shared leadership activities such as Kanban management, calibration tasks, and metrics board updates.
Perform all additional essential duties as assigned.
