Summary: The Assembler 3 is the expert level position of the Assembly Line, has more experience than an Assembler 2, and is able to work on more complex tasks. Each employee should meet all requirements of complex tasks. Must have the ability to assemble all parts of various materials to produce any of the following: Switches, Transducers, Subassemblies, Grips, Wheels, Communication Products, Chart holders, and Control assemblies. Should be able to verify all units by ATP or other test requirements. The position may require leadership skills, teambuilding skills, and effective communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Positions parts by following blue prints and Standard Work Instructions.
Works at station as member of assembly group assembling one or more specific parts to meet production requirements. Performs the duties of Assemblers 1 & 2. Assembles special switches, first-time build switches and engineering samples.
Solders by following wiring diagram, schematic, blueprint, and Standard Work Instructions.
Has the ability to troubleshoot all switch anomalies.
Performs all aspects of final checking of completed units (i.e. all switches).
Performs role of Cell Coordinator.
Performs related duties of which the above may be representative.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Blue print and/or schematic reading
Finger dexterity
Hand-eye coordination
Ability to use test equipment
Ability to train fellow-coworkers and be able to cross-train in other areas of the component business unit is a must
Ability to work cohesively with the team and help improve processes is required
Execute & Sustain Kaizen activities
Effective communication skills in English with the ability to read, speak, and understand English.
Able to work over time as business requires
Education & Experience:
High school education or general education degree (GED), or a minimum of eight years of assembly experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
