We are seeking an Assembler I for a temp-to-hire opportunity in State College, PA. This entry-level electronic assembly role is ideal for detail-oriented candidates who enjoy hands-on production work, fine assembly, and contributing to a quality-focused manufacturing team.
As an Assembler I, you will perform mechanical and electronic assembly tasks such as cable assembly, bonding, hand soldering, limited product testing, and microscope work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic and mechanical components, including cables, transducers, probes, sensors, and related product assemblies.
- Perform hand soldering, bonding, attaching, closing, and limited testing according to drawings, work orders, procedures, and verbal instructions.
- Work under a microscope for extended periods while completing fine, detailed assembly tasks.
- Follow production schedules, quality standards, manufacturing documentation, safety rules, and clean work area expectations.
- Record labor time and work order activity accurately in the MRP system while supporting workflow efficiency.
- Participate in Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement activities while working respectfully with team members.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $18 to $19 per hour.
- Employment type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: State College, PA.
- High school diploma required.
- Entry-level experience accepted, with typically less than 1 year of related experience required.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to complete fine, detailed work.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work under a microscope for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused work habits.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following detailed instructions.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to change.
- Basic computer literacy preferred for production records and system use.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Comfortable working in an environment that may include chemicals, solvents, eye protection requirements, and laser-related processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hand soldering.
- Experience using a microscope for fine assembly work.
- Previous electronic assembly, cable assembly, sensor assembly, or transducer manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with MRP systems, Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
- Basic understanding of Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, or BondMaster inspection methods is a plus.
