Job Summary

A growing commercial Design-Build firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Architect – Industrial Design for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an architect who enjoys taking ownership of industrial and commercial facility projects from early concept through permitting, construction documentation, and construction support.

This is a hands-on, collaborative environment where you will work closely with leadership, clients, engineers, municipalities, and construction teams. The position offers the opportunity to wear multiple hats, influence project outcomes, and contribute directly to the success of industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, fabrication, and commercial building projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead architectural projects from conceptual design through permitting, construction documentation, and construction support.
- Produce complete construction documents and detailed drawing sets using AutoCAD for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, consultants, and structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and deliverables.
- Review drawings for code compliance, constructability, permitting requirements, and overall technical accuracy.
- Support preconstruction and construction teams with drawing revisions, RFIs, field coordination, and project updates.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead industrial and commercial architectural projects from design concept through permitting and construction support.
- Produce accurate construction documents and technical drawing sets using AutoCAD.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, consultant coordination, client communication, and municipal coordination.
- Support design-build teams with constructability reviews, RFIs, revisions, and field coordination.

- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture preferred.
- 5+ years of architectural experience, preferably focused on industrial or commercial projects.
- Experience designing industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, fabrication facilities, or commercial buildings.
- Proven experience producing construction documents, technical drawings, and coordinated multidisciplinary drawing sets.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency required.
- Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, construction methods, and constructability.
- Experience independently managing projects from design through permitting.
- Ability to coordinate multiple consultants, engineering disciplines, municipalities, and internal project stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hands-on design-build environment.
