Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Valencia, CA. This role is ideal for a quality professional with strong aerospace manufacturing experience, advanced problem-solving ability, and a solid understanding of drawings, specifications, MRB activity, corrective action, and continuous improvement.

The Aerospace Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring product quality, customer compliance, and manufacturing process effectiveness. This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and operations teams in a quality-driven aerospace and defense environment. Candidates can expect a collaborative team setting, supportive technical leadership, and the opportunity to guide quality decisions that directly impact production performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform independent assessments of NCMRs, rework instructions, MRB dispositions, new documented information, new products, and new or revised processes.
- Review and interpret complex aerospace drawings, NDT acceptance criteria, customer specifications, and quality requirements.
- Validate product rejections using advanced inspection tools and provide MRB Quality Assurance approval with minimal guidance.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective action review, 8D documentation, and follow-up activities to verify effectiveness.
- Participate in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, problem-solving, trend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams.
- Review and approve new BOOs, BOMs, training materials, procedures, contract requirements, part numbers, drawings, and specifications.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $75,000 to $133,000 per year.
- Location: Valencia, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform quality engineering support for aerospace manufacturing, including NCMR review, MRB disposition, and corrective action activities.
- Analyze quality trends, identify recurring issues, lead meetings, and coordinate improvements across departments.
- Create technical quality documentation, including customer-facing 8D reports and corrective action responses.
- Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, contract review, and new product or process qualification activities.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of engineering or quality experience in a related environment may be considered.
- High school diploma with a minimum of 7 years of engineering or quality support experience may be considered.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant aerospace, manufacturing, production, operations, or quality engineering experience preferred based on role level.
- Intermediate knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 symbology, interpretation, and application.
- Intermediate understanding of machining methods, cutting tools, manufacturing processes, assembly, deburr, outside processes, and internal or external product value streams.
- Ability to review and interpret complex drawings, customer specifications, NDT acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, MRB support, NCMR review, and technical problem solving.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to train and guide Associate Quality Engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

- Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience.
- Experience preparing customer-facing 8D corrective action reports.
- Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and continuous improvement tools.
- Advanced inspection tool knowledge and strong understanding of customer quality acceptance requirements.
