A growing aerospace and defense manufacturing organization in Pacoima, CA is seeking an experienced Aerospace Operations Manager to lead operations for a high-precision thread rolling department. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong machine shop, aerospace quality, production control, and team development experience.

The Aerospace Operations Manager will oversee department performance from request for quote through production, shipment, quality compliance, tooling readiness, scheduling, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily operations for the thread rolling department, including employee relations, training, discipline, performance management, scheduling, and workflow priorities.
- Drive production performance by managing capacity, overtime, staffing, expedite jobs, work center schedules, and recovery plans for schedule delays.
- Maintain and improve QMS procedures, work instructions, forms, 6-S practices, department metrics, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support customer service, inside sales, estimating, planning, quote follow-up, technical questions, and customer communication related to thread rolling operations.
- Manage tooling and equipment readiness, including die inventory, die forecasting, new die purchases, repairs, maintenance logs, service recommendations, and equipment improvement needs.
- Troubleshoot shop floor, machine, process, quality, and paperwork issues while supporting root cause corrective action and nonconformance disposition.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $100,000 to $150,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage thread rolling operations from quote support through planning, production, quality review, and shipment.
- Lead department scheduling, production control, staffing, overtime, training, and performance improvement.
- Drive quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, tooling readiness, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement metrics.
- Provide technical support to customers, vendors, account managers, operators, and internal teams.

- Minimum of 10 years of management experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
- Manufacturing or machine shop experience required, preferably in thread rolling, fasteners, or precision aerospace components.
- Minimum of 2 years of college required, with a 4-year degree preferred.
- Experience with mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers, comparators, and thread gages.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems preferred.
- Experience with destructive metallographic inspection preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and MRP or ERP systems.
- Project management and budget management experience.
- Ability to lead meetings, coach employees, communicate expectations, and build accountability across the department.
- Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, customer service, planning, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Aerospace industry experience.
- Thread rolling or fastener manufacturing experience.
- AS9100 knowledge and hands-on quality system experience.
- Experience managing tooling, dies, maintenance priorities, and production equipment improvement projects.
- Background supporting estimating, planning, quote turnaround goals, and technical customer communication.
