This Administrative Assistant – Patient Registration Position Features:

We are seeking a reliable and professional Administrative Assistant to support front desk operations in a fast-paced psychiatric unit. This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to stay composed in sensitive situations, and experience working in a medical office environment. You will be responsible for patient check-in, phone support, and general administrative coordination within a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

- Register and check in patients accurately and efficiently
- Answer and direct high-volume incoming calls
- Provide front desk support to patients, visitors, and staff
- Coordinate transportation, including ambulances and patient transfers
- Maintain organized work areas and assist with administrative tasks
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff, security, and departments
- Handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality

Qualifications

- Minimum 2+ years of medical office or patient registration experience
- Experience in a hospital, behavioral health, or psychiatric setting preferred
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, MediTech, etc.)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and office systems)
- Comfortable working with behavioral health patients
- Reliable and able to commit to a Friday–Monday schedule
