Job Summary
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for a contract/temporary opportunity in Carpinteria, CA, supporting manufacturing, production, receiving, shipping, inventory, and quality documentation activities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented administrative professional with 1 to 2 years of experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced operations environment.
The Administrative Assistant will support a medium to large team or senior-level manager by maintaining records, preparing reports, tracking documentation, and helping ensure accuracy across production and inventory processes. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a collaborative manufacturing environment with steady weekday hours, cross-functional teamwork, and exposure to production, MRP, QA, and documentation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and track department records using paper forms, spreadsheets, and computerized systems.
- Support production, receiving, shipping, labeling, inventory, and documentation processes to help ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Assist with inventory systems, cycle counting, production scheduling reports, and correction of inventory issues as needed.
- Interface with production, MRP, QA, and other departments to support manufacturing goals and shipment requirements.
- Complete data entry, reporting, documentation research, and special projects or spreadsheets as assigned.
- Review manufacturing and packaging paperwork for accuracy and support quality requirements within the scope of the role.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $25 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Provide administrative support for manufacturing, production, inventory, shipping, and documentation activities.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, spreadsheets, and production-related paperwork.
- Coordinate with MRP, QA, production, and other departments to support manufacturing and shipment goals.
- Assist with inventory tracking, labeling programs, cycle counts, and process documentation.
- 1 to 2 years of related administrative, manufacturing support, operations, or production environment experience.
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain organized recordkeeping systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, documentation accuracy, and process compliance.
- Ability to make well-grounded decisions and assessments with increasingly limited supervision.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to support special projects, spreadsheets, documentation requests, and administrative priorities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of process production activities in a chemical or mechanical manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, quality, inventory, MRP, or document control processes.
- Familiarity with specialty materials, production scheduling, labeling programs, or quality system documentation.
