Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Location: Columbia, SC (on-site)
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
Assignment Type: Long-term contract
About the Opportunity
We are a recruiting and staffing agency partnering with a state department to hire an Administrative Assistant for a long-term contract opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with prior administrative experience who is comfortable supporting both office operations and front desk responsibilities.
Position Overview
This position will support daily administrative functions while also serving as a first point of contact for visitors and incoming calls. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and able to manage multiple tasks in a structured office environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide general administrative support to office staff and leadership
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls
• Greet and assist visitors in a professional manner
• Manage scheduling, filing, and data entry tasks
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Assist with correspondence, reports, and other clerical duties as needed
Requirements
• Prior experience in an administrative or office support role required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
