Activities Coordinator

The Activities Coordinator plans, promotes, and delivers engaging programs and events that enhance residents’ quality of life. This role works closely with residents, staff, committees, and vendors to create meaningful opportunities for social connection, recreation, enrichment, and community involvement. The position reports to the Resident Services Manager and serves as a friendly, consistent point of contact for resident activities.

Key Responsibilities
Research, plan, promote, and implement a variety of resident activities and programs
Coordinate in-house events, trips, and outings (including occasional evenings/weekends)
Collaborate with residents, the Activities Committee, staff, and vendors to align programming with resident interests
Prepare and distribute monthly activity calendars, weekly reminders, flyers, and event communications.
Maintain activity records, attendance tracking, and resident birthday celebrations.
Coordinate vendors and performers within an approved budget.
Submit check requests, manage purchase orders, and maintain activity-related documentation
Provide administrative and front desk support as needed
Assist with community-wide events, safety meetings, and special projects

Qualifications
Experience creating and coordinating activities or programs for seniors preferred
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines with attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based tools
Ability to communicate clearly and patiently with elderly residents
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs and walk extensively throughout the community

Work Environment
Primarily indoor office and community settings
Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and vendors
Regular computer and phone use
Participation in on-site events, trips, and outings
