Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant for a direct hire opportunity in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, accuracy, and working across accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoice coding, approvals, payment scheduling, vendor statement reconciliation, and AP record maintenance.
- Manage accounts receivable support, including customer invoicing, payment posting, balance follow-up, and collections assistance.
- Assist with general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support payroll processing through timesheet review, data entry, deductions, and accurate payroll preparation in compliance with applicable requirements.
- Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, summaries, bank reconciliations, and cash flow tracking for management review.
- Maintain organized accounting records and assist with audit documentation, discrepancy resolution, and general accounting administration.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 to $60,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ or similar
- Support daily accounting operations across AP, AR, GL, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assist with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and documentation accuracy.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or corporate accounting support role.
- Hands-on exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll processes.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy with numbers, and ability to manage confidential financial information.
- Excellent organizational, time management, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, or Gusto.
- Prior experience supporting audits, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, or cash flow tracking.
- Experience working in a corporate accounting environment with cross-functional communication responsibilities.
