We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist for a temporary accounting assignment in Carlsbad, CA. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys reconciling payments, researching discrepancies, supporting accurate revenue recording, and working closely with internal teams in a busy financial services environment.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will join a collaborative accounting team where accuracy, communication, and follow-through are highly valued. This role offers a structured weekday schedule, steady workflow, and the chance to contribute to an organized finance operation that relies on teamwork, dependable processes, and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process customer payments, post daily deposits, and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
- Reconcile daily and monthly deposits while researching and resolving account discrepancies.
- Record payment corrections, returned payments, chargebacks, NSFs, bond-related fees, and related account activity.
- Partner with internal departments, branch locations, and Financial Services to support timely and accurate revenue posting.
- Download, review, and reconcile online deposit reports and other financial activity.
- Process incoming mail and assist with additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Assignment Duration: August 2026 through December 2026.
- Location: Carlsbad, CA.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications 

- Previous experience in accounts receivable, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related administrative role.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred based on role level.
- Strong reconciliation skills with the ability to research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and general office software.
- Comfortable using a 10-key by touch.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving ability, and follow-through.
- Clear communication and customer service skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

- Coursework or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced accounting or financial services environment.
- Familiarity with online deposit reports, payment posting processes, and branch-based revenue activity.
