Accounts Receivable/ Purchasing Clerk

A local client is looking to hire an Accounts Receivable technician to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to join a stable environment while supporting the team with the following but not limited to:
-Support purchasing functions
-Perform accounts receivable, cash handling
-Receive and process requisitions and generate purchase orders
-Verify and correct budget coding of requisitions prior to processing
-Confirm proper approval of purchase requisitions and verify budget availability using designated financial software
-Prepare budget transfers and budget revisions related to purchase requisitions
-Prepare and manage open purchase orders for utilities, insurance, supplies, mileage, copy services, maintenance agreements, and other recurring expenditures
-Maintain vendor files, contracts, insurance certificates, related binders and spreadsheets
-Research products and services to ensure the most competitive pricing
-Arrange equipment repairs, maintenance services, and waste management services as requested
Accounting & Financial Operations
-Prepare journal entries for revenues and expenditures related to materials, supplies, services, contracts, capital assets, and leasehold improvements
-Monitor monthly copier readings and prepare spreadsheets for journal entry submission
-Prepare invoices for grants and awards
-Record revenues and accounts receivable in the accounting system
-Monitor and follow up monthly on receivables and revenues, including inter-district transfers
-Perform monthly reconciliation of cash accounts
-Maintain binders and records for budget transfers, journal entries, cash receipts, and interfund transfers
-Receive, process, and deposit payments for invoices and other receipts issued through receipt books or accounting software
-Receive, verify, and prepare deposits for Student Store revenues
-Accurately count, record, and reconcile cash
-Maintain and monitor materials inventory
-Coordinate delivery of received items to ensure timely and accurate distribution
-Prepare shipments for postal or commercial carriers
-Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips
-Inspect shipments for damage or defects and report discrepancies as needed
-Distribute items to requisitioning departments and obtain authorized signatures for accepted items
Process return shipments when necessary
Skills:
-Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and online systems
-Bookkeeping and accounting principles
-Mathematical computations related to financial records
-Work independently in a self-directed manner while maintaining a professional and positive image
-Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
-Analyze, organize, and manage financial data with accuracy and attention to detail
-Multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
-Accurately input data and process financial information
-Perform precise cash handling and counting
