Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk for a contract/temporary opportunity in Pleasanton, CA. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will play an important role in maintaining customer accounts, processing payments, researching discrepancies, and supporting the accounting team with timely and accurate receivables activity. Key Responsibilities

- Process customer payments, apply cash receipts, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
- Review customer accounts, research discrepancies, and assist with resolving billing or payment issues.
- Generate and maintain invoices, statements, aging reports, and related documentation.
- Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding account status, payment details, and outstanding balances.
- Support month-end close activities by preparing account reconciliations and providing receivables documentation.
- Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Process accounts receivable transactions, including payment posting and cash application.
- Research account discrepancies, billing questions, and payment variances.
- Maintain receivables documentation, aging reports, and customer account records.
- Support accounting team activities related to reconciliations and month-end reporting.

- 3-5 years of accounts receivable, accounting clerk, or related finance experience.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting month-end close processes in an accounting or finance department.
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting software systems.
- Previous contract, temporary, or staffing assignment experience in an office or finance environment.
