We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant for a direct hire, on-site opportunity in Santa Ana, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on AR professional who enjoys owning the full accounts receivable process, partnering across departments, resolving account issues, and driving timely collections.
The Accounts Receivable Accountant will play a key role in invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, aging review, collections, and customer account resolution. This is a strong opportunity for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership from issue identification through final resolution in a collaborative accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, aging review, and account maintenance.
- Contact customers regarding past-due balances and drive collection efforts through consistent follow-up and professional communication.
- Research and resolve short payments, unapplied cash, credit memos, disputes, pricing discrepancies, and payment issues.
- Partner with internal departments to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and ensure timely resolution.
- Review customer accounts, payment terms, purchase orders, and billing requirements to support accurate and timely AR processing.
- Maintain organized documentation and provide accurate reporting related to receivables, collections, and account status.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Work Arrangement: On-site in Santa Ana, CA.
- Manage full-cycle accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and aging.
- Lead customer collections efforts by calling customers regarding past-due balances.
- Research and resolve AR discrepancies, payment issues, short pays, unapplied cash, credit memos, and disputes.
- Partner with internal teams to drive issue resolution and improve account accuracy.
- 5+ years of progressive accounts receivable or accounting experience.
- Strong hands-on collections experience with confidence contacting customers directly.
- Full-cycle AR experience, including customer invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and aging management.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP or accounting systems.
- Ability to research discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and strong ownership of assigned accounts and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or contract manufacturing experience.
- Global Shop ERP experience.
- Experience with complex or commercial customer accounts.
- Experience working with purchase orders, contractual payment terms, and billing requirements.
- Cash forecasting or working capital experience.
- Accounting or Finance degree is a plus.
