We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in cash applications, high-volume AR transactions, and experience working with big-box retailers. This role ensures accurate, timely customer payment processing, account reconciliation, and effective communication with internal teams and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will post and apply customer payments, checks, ACH, wire transfers to appropriate invoices accurately and on time, reconcile accounts receivable ledger and customer accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will address payment inquiries, resolve invoice disputes, and provide updates on account status professionally and promptly, monitor and maintain aging reports, follow up on overdue balances, and ensure timely collections.
In this role you will process invoices and remittances for large retail accounts, adhering to their specific billing formats and payment terms, assist with monitoring customer credit limits and coordinate with the credit department to manage delinquencies or overages and support the monthly close process by preparing AR reports and summaries for management review.
In this role you will liaise with departments such as sales, shipping, and customer service to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment holds and maintain thorough records of transactions, adjustments, and customer correspondence.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-volume setting.
Hands-on experience with big-box retailer invoicing and EDI systems preferred.
Familiarity with ERP/accounting platforms such as SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar.
Strong understanding of general accounting principles related to accounts receivables.
High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
