Accounts Receivable Duties and Responsibilities
• Management of customer accounts
• Maintaining customer accounts includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
o Application of cash receipts, checks, and E-payments daily to customer accounts along with processing payment reversals/corrections as needed
o Manage credits, overpayments or return premiums through application to existing balance or return of funds to proper party through weekly check batch processing
o Process broker commission batches monthly, check and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
o Coordinate application, preparation, and review of the in-house deposit with the Finance Administrative Assistants
o Generation/review/preparation of monthly electronic broker statements as well as daily billing statements for delivery via mail and email
o Coordinate courtesy notices to past due accounts with the Finance Administrative Assistants
o Process cancellation / reinstatements of accounts in accordance with policies and procedures
o Review and follow up on accounts in a cancellation status
o Coordinate/assist with collection calls and collection letters with Finance Admins
o Respond to account inquiries from customers and brokers regarding billing statements, installment plans, payment arrangements, extensions.
o Create and manage payment arrangements for customer accounts.
o Process requests from customers/brokers to change address/billing information, contact information, or billing type

Required Skills
• Must be detail-oriented, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, and conduct precise proofreading
• Strong organization skills and customer service mindset are necessary
• Must possess and maintain strong customer service skills, both internally and externally
• Ability to interact on a professional level with all internal and external constituents including: internal personnel, clients, vendors, insureds, and brokers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience with Adobe Acrobat along with the aptitude to learn custom software
• Ability to type 45-50 words per minute
• Demonstrated success using general office data processing skills (i.e., data entry, mail merges, creating labels, bulk mailings, etc.)
• General office machine experience, familiarity with fax machines, copiers, printers, etc.
• Multi-line phone reception experience is helpful
• Must have a “hands-on, whatever it takes” approach to daily work
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects/tasks and to be able to prioritize with a high sense of urgency at times.

Education
2-year Accounting degree or 3 or more years of equivalent experience
