Accounts Payable Specialist | Construction
Location: Ontario, CA
Pay: 23 to 25 dollars per hour DOE
Schedule: Full time, on site, Monday to Friday
About the Role
We are hiring an Accounts Payable specialist with construction experience to keep projects moving and vendors happy. You will own AP from intake to check run in a job cost environment where accuracy and timing matter.
What You Will Do
• Process high volume AP including subcontractor pay apps and vendor invoices
• Perform 3-way match to POs and receipts, code to jobs, cost codes, and cost types
• Validate billing backup and lien releases before payment approval
• Track retention and release upon closeout as required
• Manage weekly check runs and ACH payments, resolve holds, short pays, and credits
• Maintain vendor files, W-9s, COIs, and 1099 reporting support
• Reconcile statements, research discrepancies, and partner with PMs and Procurement
• Support month end close with AP accruals and reports in the ERP
What You Bring
• 2 plus years of Accounts Payable in construction required
• Strong job cost coding, PO and receiving workflow, and 3-way match experience
• Working knowledge of lien releases and pay application requirements
• Excel skills including lookups and pivots
• Experience with one or more: QuickBooks, Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Procore
• Detail focus, clear communication, and reliable follow through
