AppleOne is partnering with a growing construction-related organization in Irvine that is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with invoices, vendor payments, subcontractor documentation, and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively with Accounting, Operations, and Project Management teams. Responsibilities

Review, code, and process vendor invoices and subcontractor pay applications accurately and timely.
Match purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and supporting documents for approval and payment.
Maintain vendor files, including W-9 forms, lien waivers, insurance certificates, and related documentation.
Prepare weekly check runs and process vendor payments.
Reconcile accounts payable aging reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
Research and resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies.
Support audit requests and maintain accurate accounting records.
Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure proper job cost allocations and accounting accuracy.

Qualifications

2+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
Experience processing high volumes of invoices and vendor payments.
Strong understanding of invoice coding, PO matching, and account reconciliations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with vendors and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Construction industry accounting experience.
Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline), Procore, or similar software.
Familiarity with lien waivers, W-9 maintenance, insurance certificates, and subcontractor compliance documentation.
Knowledge of job cost accounting and construction accounting practices.
