Norfolk, VA - Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys accuracy and problem-solving? Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in a stable, collaborative environment known for long employee tenure.
You’ll handle full-cycle AP, including three-way invoice matching, coding to the general ledger, and processing payments (checks, ACH, wires). Responsibilities also include vendor communication, reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, and support of month-end/year-end close, audits, tax reporting, and expense reviews, along with ongoing process improvements.
Candidates should have 2+ years of AP or general accounting experience, a strong understanding of accounting principles (debits, credits, reconciliations), and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. Attention to detail, time management, and strong communication skills are essential.
Success means maintaining high accuracy (98%+), meeting payment deadlines, completing reconciliations without variances, and supporting compliance and process improvements.
