Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to provide direct support to the Controller. This is an immediate opening due to a team member’s departure on March 13th, making this a great opportunity for someone ready to step in and make an impact right away.
This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accrual accounting, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Review, verify, and approve invoices for payment
• Prepare accounts payable checks and maintain AP files
• Respond to vendor inquiries and build ongoing vendor relationships
• Communicate proactively regarding missing invoices, payment timelines, and credit terms
• Collaborate closely with Purchasing to obtain proper documentation
• Prepare AP reports and account analyses as needed
• Assist with monthly closings
• Support accounts receivable and special projects as necessary
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets for reporting and statistics
• Draft professional internal and external correspondence
Qualifications
• 4 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Coursework in Accounting I, Accounting II, and Cost Accounting
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, schedules, reporting)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a deadline-intensive setting
• Self-starter with ability to quickly learn proprietary accounting software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to interpret procedural and safety documentation
• Strong mathematical aptitude (rates, ratios, percentages, graphs)
• Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
