Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist
Location: Columbia, SC
Pay: $17-19/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Type: Long-term contract

We are a recruiting agency partnering with a state government department in Columbia, SC to identify a reliable and experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist. This is a long-term contract opportunity with consistent hours and a professional office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner

Review, verify, and reconcile invoices and supporting documentation

Ensure compliance with state policies, procedures, and deadlines

Maintain organized and accurate financial records

Communicate with internal departments and vendors regarding payment inquiries

Requirements:

Previous Accounts Payable experience is required

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to meet deadlines in a structured environment

Proficiency with basic accounting systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Experience in a government or public sector setting is a plus, but not required
