Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in the organization’s financial workflow by managing end-to-end payables activities. This includes accurate invoice handling, cost allocation to projects, maintaining vendor compliance records, and ensuring timely payments. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with construction-related accounting practices, and effective communication with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Process invoices, payroll cycles, and bank transactions in alignment with company procedures.
Manage subcontractor compliance, including lien releases and retention.
Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial data.
Prepare documentation for audits and assist with month-end close tasks.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments.
Support process improvements and cross-train in additional accounting functions.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (accounting emphasis) or equivalent experience.
