Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & HR:
- Process biweekly payroll with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Calculate deductions, taxes, and garnishments, and submit payments online.
- Maintain personnel records, track attendance/PTO, and process new hire/termination paperwork.
- Manage benefit programs, including health insurance, 401k, and profit-sharing plans.
- File monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax returns while staying updated on regulations and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with employees and manage unemployment claims.
Company Credit Cards:
- Oversee American Express card accounts for 20 cardholders.
- Collect receipts, reconcile statements, and code charges for costing.
- Maintain organized records, resolve disputes, and ensure timely payments.
Accounting:
- Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and bookkeeping for small rental entities.
- Handle accounts payable/receivable and prepare annual reports/license renewals for various states.
- Assist with miscellaneous tax returns and municipal reporting.
- Support the accounting department with processing transactions and analyzing GL accounts.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, taxes, and benefit administration.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable and general ledger management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data entry and tracking.
- Familiarity with accounting software and cost payroll procedures.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle high-volume tasks efficiently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize responsibilities without becoming overwhelmed.
