Job Summary Required Qualifications and Skills
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor for a remote contract opportunity supporting a corporate accounting team in a business services environment. This temporary assignment is expected to run through the end of February and is ideal for an accounting professional who can quickly step in, support month-end close, review accounting activity, and provide steady leadership across general ledger and accounts payable functions.
The Accounting Supervisor will work closely with internal accounting stakeholders in a fast-moving environment that values accuracy, responsiveness, and strong business partnership. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and supporting a team through key reporting and close deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and support journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close processes, financial reporting support, and trial balance-related activities.
- Provide oversight of accounts payable processes, vendor management, invoice review, and accounting transactions.
- Support audit requests by gathering documentation, reviewing records, and responding to accounting inquiries.
- Use ERP systems to review transactions, maintain accounting accuracy, and support corporate accounting workflows.
- Partner with accounting team members and leadership to ensure deadlines, controls, and reporting expectations are met.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $30.00 to $39.00 per hour.
- Contract/temporary assignment expected to run through the end of February.
- Support general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Oversee accounts payable activity, vendor management, invoice review, and accounting transaction accuracy.
- Assist with audit support, documentation requests, and financial close deliverables.
- Work within ERP systems to support corporate accounting processes and reporting needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a larger corporate environment.
- Strong general ledger accounting experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries.
- Experience completing general ledger reconciliations.
- Month-end close experience.
- Audit support experience.
- Accounts payable oversight and vendor management experience.
- Experience reviewing invoices and accounting transactions.
- Strong ERP system experience.
- Supervisory or accounting leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to move quickly, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with accounting and business partners.
