Job Title: Client Accounting Specialist
Description:
The Client Accounting Specialist provides accounting support in a fast-paced, centralized accounting services environment, serving community associations.
Responsibilities:
Assist with in-office tasks, including processing checks (sorting, coding, and completing AR income forms).
Review and approve monthly financial statements for various clients, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Monthly Trends, Delinquencies, Prepaid Accounts, Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledgers.
Address inquiries from Community Association Managers (CAMs) and Board Members regarding monthly financial statements.
Manage the transition of new clients, including internal communication, setting up/closing bank accounts, processing signature cards, and budget entry.
Oversee and request AP/AR corrections, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account adjustments.
Manage recurring charges (e.g., homeowner assessments, parking, and storage).
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Attend in-person or virtual board meetings as needed.
Provide training and assistance to CAMs and other branch personnel on financial statement review, budget implementation, A/R, A/P, GL, and other accounting procedures.
Update personnel on association-related changes to policies, procedures, banking, etc.
Knowledge and Skills:
Skilled with Yardi and Excel software a must.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in general ledger accounting and budget implementation.
Understanding of AP and AR transaction processes.
Strong prioritization, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and take on new projects.
