We are hiring an experienced Accounting Specialist (AP/AR) for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Paramount, CA with a growing manufacturing company. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, invoice processing, and reconciliation experience.
The Accounting Specialist will support daily accounting operations while working closely with purchasing, production, warehouse, shipping, vendors, and customers. Candidates will gain hands-on exposure to manufacturing accounting processes, inventory-related reconciliations, and month-end support. Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor invoices, customer payments, credits, and adjustments.
- Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices while verifying quantities, pricing, account coding, and approvals.
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolve billing or payment discrepancies, and assist with past-due account follow-up.
- Support inventory, freight, manufacturing cost reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, spreadsheets, electronic files, and reports to support month-end close and daily accounting activity.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, purchasing, production, warehouse, and shipping teams to research and resolve discrepancies.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $23 to $25 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Paramount, CA.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or related finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of invoice processing, payment posting, reconciliations, credits, adjustments, and account coding.
- Experience matching purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices.
- Ability to support bank reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close tasks.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, accounting records, and electronic file management.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, follow-through, and organizational skills.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to work with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or inventory-driven environment.
- Exposure to inventory, freight, or manufacturing cost reconciliations.
- Experience using accounting software, ERP systems, or inventory-related financial systems.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and reconciliation support.
