We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join a growing team in Santa Barbara, CA. This full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting essential finance operations.
In this role, you will assist with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting support, and general accounting administration. Key Responsibilities
- Process and assist with weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll activities.
- Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice entry, matching, coding, and vendor payment support.
- Handle accounts receivable tasks, including customer invoicing, payment tracking, and collections follow-up.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and accounting records to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with month-end close activities, financial reporting, and documentation maintenance.
- Respond to vendor and customer inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account details.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.

- Assist with invoice processing, customer billing, vendor payments, and collections follow-up.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end accounting activities.
- Provide administrative and financial support to the accounting team.
- 1 to 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting assistant experience preferred.
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processing.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Excellent communication, follow-up, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting assistant experience.
- Prior experience supporting month-end close activities and financial reporting.
- Experience working in a stable office, finance, or administrative accounting environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative accounting team.
